Course Description

Program Description With a combined BA/BMgt or a BSc/BMgt degree, you can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if you are interested in managing an art gallery, you can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites your passion, you can major in kinesiology and marketing. The Combined BA/BMgt or BSc/BMgt degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees. Bachelor of Management - Human Resource Management and Labour Relations Human resource management is the study of people at work and the activities associated with recruitment and selection, training and development, retention and occupational health and safety. A key component is organizational behavior, which examines things like leadership, motivation, employee attitudes and productivity. Labour relations is the study of how employers and employees work together to create a fair workplace. Human Resource and Labour Relations professionals provide an essential link between employees and management, helping address work-related concerns, developing policies and protecting the rights of both parties. Our graduates lead change while fostering a positive attitude towards organizational objectives. Bachelor of Arts - Art Build your program around your diverse interests across art, humanities, sciences and social sciences. Your program allows you to focus your attention on studio art and art history/museum studies courses as you come to understand and appreciate art from around the world and immerse yourself in the study and the conversations about culture and creativity. Compliment your studies with courses outside your area of focus to achieve the goals you have set out for your future endeavours. You have the flexibility to explore a range of emerging and traditional art studio areas: drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, performance art, photography, printmaking, media and electronic art. You will learn a full range of technical and theoretical approaches to artmaking, put at the forefront of this diverse and exiting field of study. As a senior student, you have 24/7 access to your own studio and the support from a studio professor of your choice, who will work one-on-one with you to develop your own artistic direction. In addition to having your own studio space, you will develop the critical abilities to evaluate artists and develop your artist style and direction through discussion and open dialogue on contemporary art with practicing arts on and off campus. Choose from courses that reflect today’s art word combined with art history to balance your art practice with academic studies.
